Naver to Launch Precision Medical Hospital Information System at Korea University Anam Hospital Within This Year
Underwent a Two-Year Verification Process with Korea University Medical Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Naver Business Platform (hereinafter NBP) announced on the 7th that it has secured the contract to build the Precision Medical Hospital Information System (P-HIS) for Korea University Anam Hospital.
The hospital information system is a core system related to hospital operations, and even a minor malfunction can threaten patients' lives or cause confusion, making it a highly sensitive system.
NBP underwent thorough verification during a two-year pilot project period in collaboration with Korea University Medical Center. During the pilot project, NBP demonstrated its capability to support a medical-dedicated cloud necessary for implementing a stable hospital information system and successfully completed the verification. Subsequently, NBP was entrusted with the application to Korea University Anam Hospital within the year, bringing the first actual application case of P-HIS within reach.
The Naver Cloud Platform separates general private cloud service servers and medical service-dedicated servers into distinct zones, allowing healthcare data to be handled in a safer environment. Additionally, it operates in a multi-zone configuration, ensuring stable service even if natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes occur in the region where the data center is located.
Kim Tae-chang, Executive Vice President of NBP Cloud Business, said, "As a leading domestic cloud provider, we are doing our best to expand and ensure the stable operation of P-HIS for hospitals in Korea."

Meanwhile, the P-HIS project is a government initiative investing approximately 30 billion KRW to develop cloud-based system functions necessary for overall hospital operations by 2021. Korea University Medical Center was selected as the lead organization for the Ministry of Science and ICT’s P-HIS project in 2017.
