According to Jindo County on the 5th, by the end of this year, a budget of 220 million won will be invested to create parks that bloom with flowers all year round in major urban areas of Jindo-eup and small parks within the city, providing attractions for tourists and residents throughout the year.
So far, they have created areas such as supplementary planting along the ginkgo tree-lined street on Chiljeon-gil in Uisin-myeon, Honggashina trees in Arirang Sports Park, and a zinnia flower hill in Songgain Park.
Additionally, to revive the local community atmosphere exhausted by the COVID-19 pandemic and to create lively streets, flower pots hanging on roadside railings have recently been installed.
The hanging flower pots have attracted the attention of passersby with 240 pots installed on three bridges in Jindo-eup and 10 three-tier sculptural pole planters installed at three locations including the Jindo-eup Administrative Welfare Center.
The flowers planted in the street pots are wave petunias in red, pink, and purple colors, which spread well like waves, have excellent branching tendencies, strong growth, and thrive well in sunny locations.
The county plans to continuously implement the Green New Deal Flower Project by creating flower paths with small parks and flower beds in the city, green belts with street trees in the town area such as Arirang Intersection, and flower pots on bridge railings.
