Gyeongnam Province Conducts Safety Management Inspection of Public Waste Treatment Facilities
From 10.7 to 11.30, 51 Sites Including Landfill, Incineration, and Food Waste Treatment Facilities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 5th that it will conduct a second half inspection of public waste treatment facilities to ensure the stable processing of household waste and prevent environmental pollution in the surrounding areas.
The inspection period will be eight weeks from the 7th to the 30th of next month, targeting 51 public treatment facilities operated by cities and counties, including landfill sites, incineration facilities, resource recovery centers (recycling sorting centers), and food waste treatment facilities.
The province will conduct on-site inspections of the operational status of waste treatment facilities and compliance with management standards, and will collect and analyze leachate from landfill sites and incineration ash from incineration facilities to verify compliance with leachate discharge standards and incineration ash ignition loss standards.
For simple and minor issues found during the inspection, on-site guidance will be provided, while legal actions such as fines and facility improvement orders will be taken for abnormal operations, exceeding standards, and other violations of laws and regulations.
