According to Yeongcheon City on the 3rd, the first baby was naturally delivered at 1:47 PM on the 30th at Yeongcheon J (J) Hospital, which opened on the 23rd of last month.
Weighing 3.6 kg, the baby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Choi residing in Mangjeong-dong, and both the mother and baby are in good health. Yeongcheon City delivered a letter wishing for healthy growth along with childbirth and childcare encouragement funds and congratulatory gifts. Director Dongho Choi of Yeongcheon J Hospital gifted a baby walker to the baby.
Yeongcheon J Hospital, affiliated with the JaHye Medical Foundation operating Jin Hospital in Dong-gu, Daegu, opened on September 23rd with support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Yeongcheon City, equipped with 30 beds, a 24-hour delivery environment, and a postpartum care center. This is the first such facility in 13 years since the delivery room at Yeungnam University Yeongcheon Hospital was closed in 2007.

A Yeongcheon City official stated, "Until now, local pregnant women had to travel to Daegu or Pohang for delivery, causing inconvenience," and added, "We will strive to create an environment where citizens can comfortably give birth and raise their children in Yeongcheon."
