The White House stated that President Trump's symptoms are mild and that he will stay at the hospital for a few days as a precaution while continuing his duties.
According to Bloomberg News and others, President Trump took the presidential helicopter Marine One to Walter Reed Military Hospital that day. This hospital is where President Trump suddenly went for a health checkup last November. Before boarding the helicopter at the White House, President Trump appeared wearing a black mask and gave a thumbs-up without responding to reporters' questions.
Shortly after boarding the helicopter, President Trump posted a video on his Twitter. In the video, he said, "Thank you to everyone who has given tremendous support. I am heading to Walter Reed Military Hospital," adding, "I think I'm doing well. I will make sure things go well. The First Lady (Melania Trump) is also doing well."
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated in a press release that "as a precaution, following the advice of the physician and medical experts, the President will work from the office at Walter Reed Military Hospital." The Washington Post (WP), citing government officials, reported that President Trump's condition worsened that day, experiencing mild fever, cough, and nasal congestion, and said, "Although he is not showing severe symptoms, considering his age and other risk factors, this measure was taken."
President Trump's symptoms after testing positive for COVID-19 are known to be mild. Sean Conley, the President's physician, said in a statement released that day, "President Trump remains fatigued but is in good condition," and that as a preventive measure, he has taken Regeneron’s antibody drug, zinc, vitamin D, melatonin, and aspirin.
The physician also said, "(His wife) First Lady Melania has only mild cough and headache and is maintaining good condition," adding, "The rest of the President's family is also in good condition and tested negative for COVID-19 today."
Earlier, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told reporters that President Trump's COVID-19 symptoms are mild and said, "The American people can be assured that the President is working and will continue to work. We are optimistic that President Trump will recover very quickly."
