The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seok-jun) has opened 16 courses of the "2nd Semester Integrated Middle School After-School Program" online for middle school students in the Busan area from September 26 to January 2 of next year.
This integrated after-school program is a culture, arts, and sports-centered program operated through an agreement among the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, key universities in the Busan area, and the Busan Viewer Media Center.
Using professional instructors and excellent programs possessed by universities and others, it operates programs centered on culture, arts, broadcasting, IT, and makers that are difficult to run at individual schools.
The Office of Education will first open courses that can be operated online through four institutions: Dongju University, Pusan National University, Silla University, and the Busan Viewer Media Center.
Dongju University operates courses in hotel cooking and desserts; Pusan National University offers coding, robotics, and maker courses; Silla University provides Python programming, IoT, and 3D courses; and the Viewer Media Center runs broadcasting and media courses.
The offered programs include 16 courses such as "Master Chef," "Making Arduino Cars," "Python Programming and Understanding Artificial Intelligence," and "Broadcast PD School."
These integrated after-school programs provide necessary textbooks and practice materials to participating students via delivery or drive-through methods.
Some courses will be conducted in a blended format combining online and offline classes when the COVID-19 social distancing level is lowered to Level 1.
