Gochang-gun Expands Agricultural Machinery Delivery Service Implementation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 28th that it will expand the agricultural machinery delivery service, which is directly operated for the first time in Jeollabuk-do, in full-scale harvest season.
On this day, a commissioning ceremony for the ‘Gochang-gun Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Advisory Group,’ consisting of 40 farmers using rental agricultural machinery by town and township, was held at the Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center.
The advisory group will continuously identify improvements such as development directions for the agricultural machinery rental business and recommendations for necessary machinery, and carry out advisory and promotional activities to provide convenience for farmers’ agricultural work.
In addition, the county improved the service by securing three 1-ton special vehicles, allowing farmers to reserve agricultural machinery three days in advance and have it delivered directly to the farming site using professional transport vehicles.
Previously, since last year, the county had been providing a delivery service using special transport vehicles to each village hall. However, there were difficulties with the mobility and site accessibility of the 5-ton trucks.
Currently, Gochang-gun operates two agricultural machinery rental offices and owns 530 units of 64 types of agricultural machinery.
In November, the southern agricultural machinery rental office is scheduled to be completed. Also, considering the accessibility of farmers in Heungdeok-myeon, Seongnae-myeon, Sillim-myeon, and Buan-myeon, the county secured 800 million KRW in national funds for new construction in the northern area and is aiming for completion next year.
Farmers in Gochang-gun will be able to conveniently use agricultural machinery within a 15-minute distance through the establishment of the ‘Comprehensive Agricultural Machinery Rental Service Center.’
