Geon-guk AMC Total 330 Million KRW Reduction for 102 Stores... 'Good Landlord Movement' 34 Landlords Participate, 135 Stores Benefit from Reduction
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] In Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap), the "Good Landlord Movement" is continuing within the community to overcome difficulties caused by the spread of COVID-19 together.
The "Good Landlord Movement" refers to building owners reducing rent to ease the worries of local small business owners who have seen their sales plummet due to the spread of COVID-19 but still have to pay monthly rent.
In particular, Konkuk AMC attracted attention by implementing rent reductions for two months in March and April, followed by additional reductions for two months in September and October.
A total of 102 stores are targeted, with a 30% reduction for restaurants and kids-related businesses, and a 20% reduction for other industries, amounting to a total rent reduction of 330 million KRW over two months.
Additionally, since April, 34 landlords in the district have participated in the "Good Landlord Movement," benefiting a total of 135 stores with rent reductions.
Meanwhile, since April, the district has been promoting the "Seoul-type Good Landlord Support Project," which provides landlords who reduce rent with support worth up to 5 million KRW for building repairs and electrical safety inspections.
