Gwangju City Selects 9 New Public-Type Daycare Centers... Total of 94 in Operation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it has newly selected 9 private and home daycare centers as public daycare centers, operating a total of 94 centers.
The operation of public daycare centers is a project that selects excellent private and home daycare centers and secures the public nature of childcare by providing operating expenses support at the level of national and public daycare centers, thereby offering high-quality childcare services.
This year, the newly selected centers include 1 private daycare center and 8 home daycare centers, which will begin operation from next month.
The selected daycare centers will receive operating expense support for three years based on the number of teachers, children enrolled, and classes, and must continuously maintain the level of childcare services by participating in post-quality management thereafter.
After three years, the centers will be evaluated on their operational performance to determine whether they will be reselected.
Teachers will receive salaries equivalent to at least step 1 of national and public daycare centers, parents will be charged childcare fees identical to those of national and public daycare centers, and staff will provide high-quality childcare services through professional development such as training and workshops.
