Police Forward 'Child Favoritism Allegation' Case Against Na Kyung-won with Non-Prosecution Opinion
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The police recently sent former Future United Party (now People Power Party) lawmaker Na Kyung-won to the prosecution with a non-prosecution opinion regarding allegations of preferential treatment related to her children.
According to the police on the 24th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit sent the case, in which the civic group Minsheng Economic Research Institute accused former lawmaker Na of obstruction of business, breach of trust, and abuse of authority, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 22nd of this month with a non-prosecution opinion.
The police reportedly sent the case with a dismissal opinion after consulting with the prosecution due to concerns over duplicate investigations, as the case had already been reported to the prosecution.
