Army Sniping... 'BTS Game' Also Expands Global Territory
Netmarble's 'BTS Universe Story' Featuring BTS Released in 13 Languages Across 173 Countries Including Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] The mobile story social game "BTS Universe Story," utilizing the intellectual property (IP) of BTS, has launched a global campaign.
Netmarble officially released BTS Universe Story at 11 a.m. on the 24th in 173 countries worldwide, including South Korea, in 13 languages. Gamers can download BTS Universe Story through Google Play and the Apple App Store. The game began pre-downloads on the two major app markets the day before, and within four hours, it ranked number one in popularity on the Apple App Store in Asian regions such as South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. It also ranked among the top popular games on the Apple App Store in European regions like Germany and Russia, signaling a promising success.
Story social games are a type where players directly participate in creating or developing the game story, with various endings depending on individual choices. BTS Universe Story contains diverse stories of BTS. Players can enjoy the "Story Creation" mode, which allows anyone to easily and conveniently create stories using in-game production tools, and the "Story Viewing" mode, where they can directly choose the story development and endings.
Additionally, the game supports a "Collection" mode, where players can collect costumes and accessories to dress BTS characters and customize them, along with enjoying augmented reality (AR) photography. Netmarble stated, "The core content of the game is freely producing various BTS stories and sharing and communicating them with other users."
BTS Universe Story is the second collaboration between Netmarble and BTS following last year's release of "BTS World." The industry expects BTS Universe Story to become one of Netmarble's global hits. BTS's new English single "Dynamite" continues to hold the top two positions on the US Billboard singles chart.
