Seongnam-si Strengthens Recycling Waste Management During Chuseok Holiday
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is implementing measures to manage recyclable waste during the Chuseok holiday.
Seongnam City expects that this Chuseok will generate more waste than ever due to an increase in disposable products caused by COVID-19.
Accordingly, the city is conducting campaigns to reduce holiday waste by encouraging the use of reusable shopping bags and avoiding disposable packaging materials, as well as campaigns to properly separate and dispose of recyclables.
The four key methods for proper waste separation are ▲ empty ▲ rinse ▲ separate ▲ do not mix.
In particular, Styrofoam and cardboard boxes left over from Chuseok gifts must have tape removed before disposal, and holiday waste, which piles up rapidly, must be separated by material type.
