Hyundai Motor-UNDP Launch Sustainable Future Innovation Solutions Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company is partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to implement solutions for creating a sustainable future society. To this end, they will conduct a project that derives innovative ideas through collective intelligence and realizes them to contribute to solving social issues.
Hyundai Motor announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with UNDP to create and realize solutions for sustainable development and will officially launch the 'for Tomorrow' project. The signing ceremony, held online on the 22nd, was attended by key figures including Euisun Chung, Executive Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator, and Jessica Alba, Ambassador.
'for Tomorrow' is a project aimed at solving today's global social issues such as transportation, housing, and the environment to create a better tomorrow. It adopts a crowdsourcing method that gathers collective intelligence from various sectors worldwide to derive and realize solutions.
According to the agreement, Hyundai Motor and UNDP will launch the open innovation platform 'for Tomorrow' website. Anyone around the world can visit the website to propose solutions for a sustainable future and freely vote on ideas and exchange opinions.

The UNDP Accelerator Labs is an organization established under UNDP to solve global common problems, with offices in 60 countries worldwide, while Hyundai Cradle is an open innovation hub established by Hyundai Motor Group in major cities around the world to lead future core technology sectors.
Through this project, Hyundai Motor plans to contribute to solving social issues faced globally and spreading sustainable messages to realize an innovative future society. This aligns with Hyundai Motor’s brand vision, 'Progress for Humanity.' At the same time, Hyundai expects to broaden empathy with the MZ generation (a term referring to those born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s), who have a strong interest in eco-friendliness and sustainability, through efforts to become a 'good company.'
Executive Vice Chairman Chung said, "Hyundai Motor will strive to continuously pursue 'Progress for Humanity' through collaboration among global members and technological innovation in this project," and UNDP Administrator Steiner responded, "I hope the platform created with Hyundai Motor will serve as a focal point that brings together people capable of changing the world and contribute to building a sustainable future."
