What Are You Doing If You’re Not Playing?... Get a Job Through ‘AI Data Labeling’ with Seocho
Recruitment for 'AI Digital Labeling' Specialist Training Course Leading the Digital New Deal, Online Applications Open Until October 8
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) will operate a training course for professional AI data labeling personnel, a new job category emerging from the 4th Industrial Revolution, starting October 6th to support young job seekers facing difficulties in employment due to COVID-19.
In response to the government's recent announcement of the Digital New Deal and the acceleration of the 4th Industrial Revolution era, the district has been leading projects that connect talent development to employment across all fields of the 4th industry, such as operating the Blockchain College and AI College youth internships.
The ‘AI Data Labeling Professional Training Project’ implemented by the district is also a pioneering initiative in Seocho for youth jobs in the 4th Industrial Revolution era. It aims to train experts in ‘AI data labeling,’ which involves collecting, analyzing, and processing data so that AI can recognize it.
Starting with basic data labeling education, next year the program plans to expand to high value-added fields such as building specialized datasets in medical fields and managing the quality of AI training data. The district will maintain a collaborative system with demand companies in advance to promote immediate employment linkage after training.
For this training course, 50 participants will be selected in the first round. From October 6th, three sessions will be held every two weeks at the Seocho Women’s Human Resources Development Center. The second round of 50 participants will receive two sessions from November to December in cooperation with the Blockchain Development Institute.
The curriculum consists of online data annotator practice and training, as well as practical use of office automation (OA) tools.
Applications can be submitted online until October 8th. Anyone who can access the internet, owns a PC, and is able to attend online classes and work from home is eligible to apply. Detailed information is available on the Seocho-gu Office website or the Seocho Women’s Human Resources Development Center website.
Meanwhile, the ‘Blockchain College’ course jointly operated by the district and the Korea Blockchain Research and Education Foundation has been educating 32 young people since the 14th.
The course combines theory and practice, covering blockchain understanding, cryptography, and chaincode development. Graduates will be actively supported for employment linkage with 32 companies that have signed employment agreements.
Additionally, the ‘1st Seocho AI College Youth Internship’ held in the first half of this year involved 16 young people interning at 12 companies for three months. After the internship, 12 were offered full-time positions, and 6 of them were ultimately converted to full-time employees, achieving a high conversion success rate of 37.5%.
