Aiming for Completion in January Next Year, a 860㎡ Facility in Sangdo4-dong to Enhance Local Childcare Equity... Moms Heart Cafe 8th Branch, Rooftop Playground, Teaching Materials Room, Outdoor Stroller Parking, and More Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is promoting the construction of the district-run Yunsul Daycare Center (bird's-eye view) in Sangdo 4-dong (near Sangdo-dong 264-60), aiming for completion in January next year.
This project, with a budget of 3.25 billion KRW, aims to resolve childcare demand in the nearby area by expanding the district-run daycare center and Moms Heart Cafe, providing a safe play space for infants and toddlers to play without worries about fine dust.
Last year, the district formed a design advisory group for the district-run daycare center, composed of architectural and childcare experts including building specialists and directors of district-run daycare centers, and after three rounds of consultation, designed a play-centered, infant-friendly building.
The facility will be a four-story building with a total floor area of 860㎡ and a capacity of 85 children. The first and second floors (680㎡) will include ▲age-specific childcare rooms ▲infant and toddler restrooms ▲teaching materials and equipment rooms ▲outdoor stroller parking facilities.
The third floor will house the 8th branch of Moms Heart Cafe, which is scheduled to begin full operation next year.
At Moms Heart Cafe, various programs such as ▲shared childcare space ▲parent counseling ▲walking play coaching ▲music and art education will be offered to further strengthen childcare infrastructure.
The rooftop will be equipped with play equipment considering child development stages, such as sensory play for infants and a jungle gym playground for toddlers, creating a rooftop playground.
Additionally, as part of the Sangdo 4-dong school route development project, an 87㎡ remaining site will be developed into a safe school route for children in the nearby area.
Kim Kyung-ok, Head of the Childcare Division, said, “With the construction of the district-run Yunsul Daycare Center, we will further strengthen the public childcare foundation and create a childcare environment where parents can feel secure.”
