The ‘Pink Box’ event featuring pink muhly grass was decided in response to the implementation of social distancing level 2 due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), aiming to completely block local infection outbreaks as outdoor activities such as autumn flower viewing are restricted.
According to the county, on the 11th, the pink muhly grass planted over an area of 4,611㎡ at Agyang Ecological Park was mowed. Although the pink muhly grass at Agyang Ecological Park was removed, the county launched the Pink Box to promote contactless tourism and foster a national atmosphere to overcome COVID-19 blues.
The ‘Haman Pink Box Campaign’ is an event where bouquets made from the pink muhly grass originally planted at Agyang Ecological Park are packaged in pink boxes along with posters capturing the autumn sentiment and delivered to participants. After receiving the Pink Box, participants are asked to post photos on SNS with five designated hashtags including ‘HamanPinkBox’ and ‘HamanCOVID19OvercomeCampaign.’
Recruitment for participants will begin on the 23rd through the county office’s Culture and Tourism website, accepting applications from the first 150 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Those recruited will receive maps and souvenirs upon application, and if there is leftover pink muhly bouquet stock, additional participants will be sent boxes in order. Pink Box deliveries are scheduled to take place after Chuseok.
