View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that it has established the ‘Changwon Welfare Foundation,’ which will serve as a welfare control tower, and awarded appointment letters to 10 executives.
The executives of the Changwon Welfare Foundation were selected through a public announcement last month, and appointment letters were awarded to 8 directors including Chairman Jang Jin-gyu and 2 auditors.
The city received approval for the establishment of the ‘Foundation Corporation Changwon Welfare Foundation’ from Gyeongnam Province on the 18th and plans to complete the establishment procedures for corporate registration soon.
The foundation, as a non-profit corporation, plans to serve as a welfare-specialized research institute acting as a control tower for researching ‘Changwon-type welfare policies’ to effectively and professionally address welfare issues at the regional level and to build an efficient public-private cooperation network.

Mayor Heo Seong-moo of Changwon said, “The Changwon Welfare Foundation will fulfill a pivotal role in the local welfare system by realizing the public nature of regional welfare, enhancing expertise, and establishing a public-private cooperation system.”
