Suncheon-si Operates 'Welfare Learning Center' to Strengthen Citizen Welfare Capacity
Expecting the Creation of a Welfare Community Designing a Citizen-Centered Happy Life through Civic Welfare Education
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City announced that it will recruit 60 citizens interested in local welfare on a first-come, first-served basis to operate a Welfare Learning Center.
The Welfare Learning Center, starting from the 22nd, will be divided into day and night sessions, with 15 participants per session, operating in four sessions. It will be held in the meeting room of the Suncheon City Community Security Council, which is the organizer.
The educational content includes understanding social welfare, welfare policies by sector and citizen awareness improvement education, reviewing the local community security plan, making natural products to overcome COVID-19 blues, and more. Certificates will be awarded upon completion of all lectures, and those who wish will be given the opportunity to participate as members of the Suncheon City Community Security Plan Monitoring Citizen Participation Group.
Suncheon City expects that through this education, citizens interested in local welfare will strengthen their welfare capacity and cultivate mature welfare awareness, playing a role in the local community to create a welfare community where citizens are at the center and design a happy life.
Additionally, to ensure citizens' safety, social distancing and quarantine rules such as wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and temperature checks will be strictly followed throughout the entire education process.
Suncheon City plans to continue operating the Welfare Learning Center in various ways to strengthen citizens' welfare capacity according to their participation and response.
A Suncheon City official said, "We hope many citizens will participate in the Welfare Learning Center and have the opportunity to change the local community through communication and practice."
