Gwangju Nam-gu Selected for Living SOC Complex Project Competition
Construction of Resident Convenience Facilities in Bangnim, Sajik, Jinwol, Juwol, and Wolsan-dong
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) will invest a total project cost of 13.8 billion KRW, including national funds, next year to build extensive 생활SOC facilities throughout the district, such as in Bangnim-dong and Sajik-dong, to improve residents' quality of life through the expansion of living convenience facilities.
On the 21st, Nam-gu announced that two projects, Bangnim Living Culture Center and Sajikgol Living Culture Center, were selected in the '2021 생활SOC Complex Project' contest hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
Additionally, in the 생활SOC single project category, four projects were selected, including Juwol Living Culture Center, Wolsan-dong Small Library, Sajik-dong Public Parking Lot, and Jinwol Sports Ground Construction Project.
The Bangnim Living Culture Center and Sajikgol Living Culture Center projects, which are 생활SOC complex projects, are expected to receive investments of 829 million KRW and 1.64 billion KRW respectively, including national, city, and district funds.
First, the Bangnim Living Culture Center will be newly built as a two-story building on the site of the former Happy Learning Center located opposite the Bangnim 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
After demolishing the old and worn Happy Learning Center building, various cultural spaces such as community spaces and club practice rooms for residents will be created, along with a customized parking lot accommodating about seven vehicles.
The Sajikgol Living Culture Center, located near the Acoustic Guitar Street, will be constructed in a pilotis style to reflect the characteristics of the Art Village.
The first floor will have a parking lot for 20 vehicles, and the second floor will be designed as a space for various performances and exhibitions to enjoy cultural arts and facilitate exchanges between local residents and artists.
As a 생활SOC single project, the Jinwol Complex Sports Ground construction project for establishing living sports facilities will be launched in earnest. Approximately 8.6 billion KRW will be invested to create a space where various sports, including soccer, can be enjoyed.
In Juwol-dong, a 90-pyeong (approximately 298 square meters) living culture center will be created by expanding the parking management building within Mudeung Market's public parking lot, allowing local residents, youth, and market merchants to enjoy cultural and leisure activities. This is expected to cost about 598 million KRW.
In Wolsan-dong, a small library project will be carried out with an investment of 140 million KRW, and in Sajik-dong, a public parking lot accommodating about 60 vehicles will be established with an investment of 2 billion KRW to alleviate parking difficulties in residential areas and revitalize commercial districts.
