People in Their 20s-40s Prefer Financial Fraud Prevention, Those 50 and Older Prefer Savings and Spending Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] As the Credit Recovery Committee promoted online education due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the number of court-ordered credit education sessions for individuals undergoing personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy increased by more than 72.4% compared to the previous year.
On the 20th, the Credit Recovery Committee announced that 7,023 people had taken credit education courses by the end of August, conducted in cooperation with the Seoul Rehabilitation Court, Suwon, Uijeongbu, and Jeonju District Courts. This figure represents a 72.4% increase from 4,072 people during the same period last year. The education targets are users of personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy systems.
In a survey conducted to directly hear and reflect the opinions of attendees, the overall response was that the education was helpful in daily life.
According to a survey conducted last month by the Credit Recovery Committee targeting 1,295 court credit education attendees, 94% of respondents expressed overall satisfaction with the credit education. Additionally, 96% answered that the educational content was ‘helpful’ in real life.
Regarding preferred topics for credit education, people in their 20s to 40s favored financial fraud prevention, while those aged 50 and above preferred education on savings and consumption. There was also demand for welfare system education. Seventy percent of all respondents preferred the online education method.
Reflecting the survey feedback, the Credit Recovery Committee newly established a course on living welfare systems for personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy users. They plan to strengthen customer-centered education by producing EBS and life-cycle-based credit education videos.
Chairman Lee Gye-moon stated, “We will continue to strengthen customized credit education that can bring positive changes to customers’ financial lives,” and added, “We plan to expand credit education for personal rehabilitation and bankruptcy users in cooperation with courts nationwide.”
