Seocho-gu Provides Up to 4 Million Won Support per Small Business Visited by Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
Support of 1 million KRW once for individual business operators registered at confirmed case sites... Up to 4 million KRW support possible with multiple applications if the business operator is a small business owner
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) plans to provide special support funds to local businesses facing difficulties due to the disclosure of COVID-19 confirmed cases' visits and movement paths.
This support is provided because, after epidemiological investigations revealed the movement paths of confirmed cases, even though disinfection measures were promptly taken at the places visited by confirmed cases, the disclosure of the movement paths along with the business names caused difficulties in the operations of small business owners and self-employed individuals.
For small business owners among the visited establishments, up to 3 million KRW per business will be supported. Applications must be submitted by September 24, and this amount cannot be used for rent or employee wages.
The district goes a step further by providing 1 million KRW support once to individual business operators (registered businesses) whose business names were disclosed in the confirmed cases' movement paths, not only to small business owners.
Additionally, if the business owner is a small business owner, duplicate applications are allowed, and there are no restrictions on the use of the funds.
The application period for Seocho-gu's special support is until the end of this year, and applications will be accepted and processed online through the Seocho-gu Office website to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
For inquiries, small business owners can contact the Seocho-gu Small Business Support Call Center (☎2155-5411), and general individual business operators can contact the Regional Economy Division (☎2155-8703).
Seocho-gu Mayor Eunhee Jo said, "I hope this will bring some comfort to local businesses suffering economic difficulties due to visits by COVID-19 confirmed cases," and added, "We will continue to prepare various practical support measures to help residents and businesses affected by COVID-19 regain strength."

Meanwhile, the district has been conducting campaigns encouraging the use of restaurants whose sales sharply declined due to customers stopping visits after confirmed cases had been there. Mayor Eunhee Jo personally visited these restaurants with staff to deliver warm messages of support, and district office employees have actively used these visited establishments for lunch.
