Gwangju Buk-gu Selected for New and Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 16th that it has been selected for the '2021 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project' contest hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, securing 3.6 billion KRW in national and city funds.
The Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project is a program that supports the installation of renewable energy source facilities in areas where energy supply such as city gas is difficult.
Accordingly, Buk-gu plans to install renewable energy sources for 523 rural households in Seokgok-dong, Geon-guk-dong, and other areas by next year, with a total project cost of 4.45 billion KRW after holding resident briefings.
The support includes 434 solar power installations, 88 solar thermal installations, and 1 fuel cell installation.
Buk-gu plans to establish a foundation for regional energy self-reliance by gradually expanding eco-friendly renewable energy sources not only to underserved areas but also to urban areas in the future.
