Seoul Western District Court Assigns 'Yoon Mi-hyang Trial' to Collegiate Panel... "Considered a Serious Case"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Yoon Mi-hyang, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (former director of Jeonguiyeokda), who is accused of embezzlement and violation of the Act on the Management of Donations related to the accounting and fund management of Jeonguiyeokda (Justice Memory Solidarity), will undergo trial by a collegiate panel.
The Seoul Western District Court announced on the 16th, "Although the case of Assemblywoman Yoon Mi-hyang is basically a single-judge trial, due to the complexity of the facts and issues and the significant social impact, it has been assigned to a collegiate panel following the reallocation decision." Reallocation is the procedure of transferring a case from a single judge to a panel of three judges.
The trial panel and trial date have not yet been determined.

The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office indicted Assemblywoman Yoon on the 14th without detention on charges including violation of the Act on the Management of Subsidies, fraud, violation of the Act on the Management of Donations, and embezzlement. A(45), a director of Jeonguiyeokda and executive director of Jeongdaehyeop, was also indicted as an accomplice on some charges and will stand trial together.
