Public Shopping, Special Broadcast "A Good Day to Make Omija"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Public Shopping announced on the 14th that it will hold a special broadcast titled 'A Good Day to Make Omija' from the 14th to the 18th to celebrate the Omija harvest season.
During the special broadcast, Omija from Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk, and Sunchang, Jeonbuk, will be sold for one hour each day.
This special was planned to support the distribution channels for Omija, a seasonal fruit in September. Public Shopping expects the harvest volume to increase this year due to Omija's characteristics of thriving in low temperatures despite the long rainy season. However, they explained that securing distribution channels is challenging as regional agricultural festivals, held annually, have been scaled down or canceled due to COVID-19.
All products in the special broadcast consist of freshly harvested Omija from this year, sugar, and fermentation containers, allowing customers to easily make Omija syrup at home. The broadcast schedule starts with Omijaae Natural Sugar Mungyeong Miso (September 14 at 5 PM, hereafter broadcast times), followed by ▲ Mungyeong Omija Preserved in Syrup (September 15 at 12:40 PM) ▲ Mungyeong Omija Valley Syrup Making (September 16 at 3:40 PM) ▲ Dongmungyeong Nonghyup Omija Preserved in Syrup (September 17 at 1:40 PM) ▲ Seosunchang Nonghyup Omija (September 18 at 4:10 PM).

A Public Shopping official said, "Omija is an agricultural product that loses its commercial value immediately if not sold within three days after harvest, so support for distribution channels during the harvest season is crucial," adding, "We ask for much interest in this special planned to promote Omija consumption."
