Recruitment of Residents for Participation in Creating Songpa Dullegil Forest Trail
Districts Operate Permanent Resident Petition Submission Desks... Online and Offline Submissions Accepted Simultaneously for One Month Starting September 15
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting participants for resident tree dedications to meaningfully develop the Songpa Dullegil forest trail.
The 'Songpa Dullegil' where the resident tree dedications will take place is a 21km circular trail connecting four rivers flowing along the outskirts of Songpa-gu (Han River, Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon).
As a representative resting spot for Songpa residents, the district has been focusing on creating walking paths and expanding resting areas along the Songpa Dullegil since October 2018.
In particular, the first resident tree dedication was held last October, receiving great response from residents. Within two weeks of registration, the initial goal of 200 trees was exceeded, with a final total of 274 trees dedicated. The dedicated trees were planted along the Seongnaecheon path between Cheongryong 2 Bridge and Oryun Bridge in Olympic Park.
In response to the enthusiastic support from residents, the district opened and operates a 'Resident Tree Dedication Permanent Window' starting from the 15th. Residents wishing to dedicate trees can apply online through the 'Songpa Dullegil' menu on the Songpa-gu website or visit their local community service center in person to apply.
In the second half of this year, 80 king cherry trees will be dedicated and planted around Seongnae Bridge, from Mongchon Rainwater Pump Station to the Football Field for the Visually Impaired.
Additionally, the district will continue the popular 'Attaching Hope Message Tags' from the previous resident tree dedication. Applicants can attach desired hope messages or commemorative phrases such as 'In celebration of our granddaughter's birth,' 'Wishing health and happiness,' or 'Retiring in Songpa' to the dedicated trees.
The focused registration period for dedications around Seongnae Bridge is from September 15 to October 15, but registrations are accepted year-round.

Through year-round registration, participants can select planting locations within Songpa Dullegil to plant a 'meaningful tree of mine' near their home or workplace.
Mayor Park Seong-su stated, “In a time when everyone is exhausted due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, I hope the resident tree dedications become an opportunity to share hope together.” He added, “We look forward to active participation from residents and will strive even harder to make Songpa Dullegil a place of solace for many residents.”
