On the 12th, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Should we now call the Kim Young-ran Act the Good Deed Prohibition Act?" and pointed out, "Did former lawmaker Lee Jung-hyun, who called a broadcasting company, get fined for the crime of good deed events?"
Earlier, former lawmaker Lee was sentenced to a fine of 10 million won for calling the KBS news director during the Sewol ferry disaster in April 2014, when he was the Blue House press secretary, and interfering with broadcast reporting and programming.
Meanwhile, Hyun Geun-taek, the lawyer representing Seo, appeared on the YouTube broadcast "Kim Eo-jun's Das Boida" on the 11th and argued, "The call made by Minister Choo and her husband to the Ministry of National Defense is closer to a good deed than external pressure."
Lawyer Hyun said, "If you are the leader of the ruling party, you are above the Minister of National Defense," adding, "If (the party leader) wanted to exert external pressure, they should have contacted at least someone above the (Ministry of National Defense) minister."
