Suncheon City Council Visits Suncheon Medical Center for Encouragement
Expressing Gratitude for the Hard Work of Medical Staff
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon City Council (Chairman Heo Yu-in) visited Suncheon Medical Center on the 10th to encourage the medical staff who are battling COVID-19.
With the recent surge in COVID-19 confirmed cases in the local community, Suncheon Medical Center has secured 89 beds and is treating 69 patients transferred from Suncheon, Hwasun, and Gurye.
Accordingly, Chairman Heo Yu-in, Vice Chairman Park Gye-su, Council Operations Committee Chair Lee Young-ran, Administrative and Autonomy Committee Chair Yoo Young-gap, Urban Construction Committee Chair Kim Mi-yeon, and other Suncheon City Council officials visited Suncheon Medical Center to listen to the difficulties faced by the medical staff caring for COVID-19 patients and delivered encouragement supplies.
Chairman Heo Yu-in of the Suncheon City Council said, “I heard that with the recent surge in COVID-19 patients in the region, some medical staff have not been able to return home and are fully devoted to treatment,” adding, “Thanks to the hard work and sacrifice of the medical staff, we can all live with peace of mind,” expressing his gratitude.
In response, Jeong Hyo-seong, Director of Suncheon Medical Center, said, “Our medical center is doing its best to prevent in-hospital infections, including daily disinfection conducted by the public health center, so citizens visiting the medical center can feel assured.”

Meanwhile, due to the spread of COVID-19 in the local community, the Suncheon City Council, which postponed a temporary session once last month, plans to open the 245th temporary session on the 11th to handle livelihood-related matters.
