On the 10th, the National Council of Governors announced that, following the proposal of Chairman Song Ha-jin, Governor of Jeonbuk, they decided to provide financial support to quickly help citizens return to their daily lives after unprecedented long rainy seasons and consecutive typhoons.
This support was unanimously approved on the 4th by the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, with an emergency allocation of 100 million won for flood recovery expenses.
The National Council of Governors decided to donate the funds to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, a legally authorized relief organization responsible for providing aid payments and supporting the purchase of essential items for livelihood and living stability in areas affected by natural disasters.
Governor Song Ha-jin of Jeonbuk said, “Amid the prolonged COVID-19 crisis causing many difficulties, natural disasters such as the rainy season and consecutive typhoons have overlapped. The National Council of Governors plans to continue establishing cooperative systems with the 17 cities and provinces and the central government to respond to various issues such as natural disasters, crises, and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.
