[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced the successful candidates of the 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Graduation Equivalency Examination on the 10th.
This year, out of 5,793 applicants, 5,006 took the exam. Among them, 4,181 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 83.51%.
The oldest successful candidates were Gong Shinsik (female, 79) for elementary school, Woo Boksun (female, 78) for middle school, and Hong Hyunkyung (male, 79) for high school. The youngest successful candidates were Yoo Mo (female, 11) for elementary school, Ahn Woosang (male, 11) for middle school, and Baek Mo (female, 12) for high school.
Ahn Hongkyung (59), a person with a level 1 brain lesion disability who took the exam through the 'Visiting Equivalency Exam' program, took the test at the Munjeong-dong Catholic Church she attends and passed the elective subject of Art.
All five individuals under self-quarantine who took the exam at separate test sites also passed.

Certificates of passing the equivalency exam, transcripts, and subject pass certificates can be issued after the announcement of successful candidates by logging in with a personal digital certificate on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's HomeEdu Civil Service. They can also be obtained through the administrative offices of elementary, middle, and high schools or the education support office civil service centers.
