Andong-si Cancels 'Andong Day Commemoration Event'... Citizen Award Ceremony to Be Held in September
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 10th that it has decided to cancel the '18th Andong Day Commemoration Event' scheduled to be held on October 3rd.
Andong City designated October 3rd as 'Andong Day' in 2003 to mark the 40th anniversary of Andong City's elevation to city status and has held commemorative events annually. This year, Andong City judged that the event cancellation was inevitable due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and the government's strengthened quarantine guidelines.
However, the award ceremony for the 'Proud Citizen Award and Honorable Andong Resident Award' is scheduled to be selected in September as originally planned.
