This contest saw participation from 473 overseas Korean children from 36 countries worldwide. Among them, 15 children, including Yoon Ji-yoo, who attends Dasom Korean School in the United States, received excellence awards. Yoon Ji-yoo expressed her respect and gratitude for the patriot Yu Gwan-sun in writing through an assignment to create a March 1st Movement poster while attending online classes.
This year, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), instead of face-to-face events, a bulletin board for the online exhibition will be set up on the website. For awardees who cannot visit Korea due to COVID-19, an online historical and cultural experience program featuring Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan, and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) will be provided.
