Gwangju Seo-gu, Unmanned System 'Smart Library' Receives Positive Response

In particular, the smart library book delivery service, uniquely operated in Gwangju, allows residents to borrow and return books from the district-run libraries by applying for loans, resulting in high satisfaction among residents.
Seo-gu's smart library currently operates two locations: the first branch at Exit 4 of Sangmu Station and the second branch in the lobby on the first floor of Seo-gu Office, with all books being disinfected before delivery.
The smart library stocks about 500 books, including new releases and bestsellers, and any full member of the Seo-gu Integrated Library can borrow up to two books at a time for 15 days.

A Seo-gu library official said, “We are striving to create an environment where people can safely borrow books non-face-to-face in preparation for the COVID-19 era,” adding, “We hope residents can enjoy reading safely and healthily.”
