High-Rise Cooling Tower Suspected as Cause of Vibration
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Economic Daily building located in Jungnim-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, shook, causing employees to evacuate in a commotion.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 4th, vibrations were felt in the Korea Economic Daily building, prompting about 250 employees of tenant companies to evacuate outside the building.
The fire authorities identified the cooling tower propeller on the rooftop of the 17-story building as the cause of the vibrations. A fire official explained, "When the cooling tower operation was stopped, the shaking also ceased."
