KOSPI and KOSDAQ Continue Upward Trend in the Afternoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The KOSPI and KOSDAQ indices continue their upward trend into the afternoon session.
The KOSPI, which opened at 2,383.26, up 18.89 points (0.80%) from the previous trading day three days ago, is maintaining its upward momentum in the afternoon, supported by net buying from foreign investors, aiming to recover the 2,400 level. As of 1:55 PM, it is recording 2,397.39, up 33.02 points (1.40%) from the previous day.
Looking at trading trends by participant, foreign investors are net buyers with 212.1 billion KRW, while individual and institutional investors are net sellers with 234.3 billion KRW and 9 billion KRW respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and LG Chem are rising, while NCSoft, Celltrion, and SK Telecom are declining.
The KOSDAQ index is also maintaining its upward trend. The KOSDAQ index opened at 871.02, up 4.28 points (0.49%) from the previous trading day, and is maintaining an increase of around 0.5% during the session. As of 1:55 PM, it is recording 873.06, up 6.32 points (0.73%) from the previous day.
By trading participant, individual investors are net buyers with 45.8 billion KRW, while foreign and institutional investors are net sellers with 38.3 billion KRW and 2.5 billion KRW respectively.
