United Future Party Recommends Lawyer Jo Byung-hyun for Central Election Commission Member
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hye-min] The United Future Party announced on the 2nd that it has recommended lawyer Cho Byung-hyun, a former president of the Seoul High Court, as the successor to Kim Yong-ho, a commissioner of the Central Election Commission.
The United Future Party previously formed a recommendation committee for election commissioners of the Central Election Commission, chaired by Kim Seong-won, the party's floor deputy leader, and publicly recruited candidates through the internet and bulletin boards for a total of 14 days.
Floor spokesperson Choi Hyung-doo stated, "Five judges, including Floor Deputy Leader Kim, reviewed the applicants' documents, excluding those who were unqualified or non-experts, and conducted a final evaluation," adding, "Lawyer Cho Byung-hyun, who received the highest score, was recommended as the election commissioner."

Candidate Cho graduated from Seoul National University’s College of Law and has served as president of the Busan District Court, president of the Seoul High Court, and chief judge of the Seoul High Court. Until July, he served as a senior judge at the Ansan Branch of the Suwon District Court and the Gwangmyeong City Court.
