HUCHEMS Co., Ltd. Donates 100 Million Won to Flood Victims in Jeonnam Due to Heavy Rainfall
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Huchems Co., Ltd. (CEO Shin Jinyong) donated 100 million won to flood victims affected by the recent heavy rains.
According to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dongil) on the 1st, Huchems Co., Ltd. Yeosu Plant Manager Kim Seungsu, Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea Secretary General Kim Sanggyun, and other employees and officials attended the donation ceremony held the previous day.
The donated funds will be collectively delivered through the National Disaster Relief Association and later used to support the affected areas.
Kim Seungsu, Yeosu Plant Manager of Huchems Co., Ltd., said, “It was heartbreaking to hear that many lives and homes were damaged due to the second disaster occurring while COVID-19 has not yet ended. The company and employees thought together about how to help, and decided to donate. I hope this can bring some comfort to those affected.”
Kim Sanggyun, Secretary General of the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, stated, “We deeply thank Huchems Co., Ltd. and all related parties for their generous donation. We will ensure that the precious funds are properly delivered to the flood victims and for the restoration of the affected areas.”
Huchems Co., Ltd. is a company producing core materials for fine chemicals, operating 14 production plants in the Yeosu Industrial Complex, Jeonnam. Since its establishment in 2002, it was designated as an eco-friendly company by the Ministry of Environment in 2006 and received various awards, including the Presidential Citation at the 41st Korea Energy Awards last year.
To give back corporate profits to society, the company practices sharing love through monthly support for child-headed households and delivery of love lunchboxes, and develops social responsibility activities as corporate culture by cooperating with local social welfare facilities to deliver love rice and support kimchi-making for marginalized groups.

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Community Chest conducted a special fundraising campaign for heavy rains from July 5 to 31 last year, as the heavy rains starting from the end of July caused severe damage across the country.
