According to News1 on the 1st, Kim Hee-sun recently waived one month's rent for a building she owns. A tenant of the building told News1, "Kim Hee-sun did not collect rent because she was concerned that the merchants might be having difficulties," and added, "We are grateful."
It is known that Kim Hee-sun has been charging rent below the market rate to support her tenants.
Kim Hee-sun's agency stated on the day, "Kim Hee-sun has been carrying out good deeds without informing the agency," and added, "Everyone has willingly extended a helping hand in these difficult times, so we feel embarrassed and shy that this has become public."
Kim Hee-sun has consistently continued her charitable activities. In February, she donated a total of 200 million KRW, 100 million KRW each to Good Neighbors and Seoul National University Hospital, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to purchase masks and hand sanitizers for underprivileged groups. She has also supported pediatric cancer patients, helped build libraries and playgrounds, and provided psychological treatment expenses for children who are victims of abuse.
