Gwangju Shinsegae Holds 'Sharing Bazaar' to Support Flood Damage Recovery
Advance Payment of 10 Million Won in Proceeds
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) has stepped up to support flood recovery efforts.
Gwangju Shinsegae announced on the 1st that it will hold a sharing bazaar throughout September in collaboration with the Gwangju Social Welfare Council to support flood recovery.
Additionally, it decided to provide 10 million won in advance from the proceeds raised through the bazaar.
The donation ceremony was attended by Kim Cheon-su, Chairman of the Gwangju Social Welfare Council, Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, and Cha Shin-gyu, Secretary General of the Gwangju Social Welfare Council.
The donated funds will be used to support underprivileged groups in the Gwangju area affected by the recent monsoon floods.
Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "I heard that many underprivileged people are still struggling due to the recent monsoon rains," and added, "I hope the donated funds will be used effectively."
Meanwhile, Gwangju Shinsegae has previously supported local underprivileged groups by providing emergency relief supplies through the Gwangju Youth Center in April, and delivering play kit expenses to children from vulnerable families in May.

In June, it provided medical expenses for pediatric cancer patients; in July, fans were delivered to underprivileged families in the Gwangju area; and in August, summer blankets were given to underprivileged families in the Jeonnam region.
