Sejong Supports Hard Disk Destruction to Prevent Personal Information Leakage
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City will start a ‘Hard Disk Destruction Service’ from mid-this month.
According to the city on the 1st, this service aims to physically and completely destroy hard disks from computers, servers, etc., containing citizens’ personal information and companies’ work data, to prevent important stored documents from being leaked externally in advance.
To use the service, applicants must make a prior reservation with the Information and Statistics Office at City Hall and visit on the designated date with the media to be destroyed. Applicants can use the service free of charge after filling out a simple application form.
The city plans to promote the complete hard disk destruction program through citizen informatization education and promotional electronic billboards, supporting citizens and companies to safely destroy personal information.
