Minister Choi Ki-young Conducts Quarantine Inspection with the Three Major Telecom Companies

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Choi Ki-young, Minister of Science and ICT, held an emergency video conference on the 1st to respond to the nationwide resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The video conference was attended by 70 organizations, including the three major mobile carriers.
Minister Choi checked the response status of each institution to ensure that science and technology and information and communication-related organizations maintain essential functions and prevent cluster infections even in crisis situations.
Each organization shared measures to strengthen initial responses related to infection prevention and confirmed cases, management and self-inspection plans for vulnerable facilities (such as central offices, post office counters, call centers), and detailed implementation plans to comply with social distancing. They also presented opinions on proactive self-quarantine enhancement measures.

Minister Choi said, "COVID-19 is showing a very serious nationwide spread," adding, "Strengthening self-quarantine is a necessary and natural measure to protect valuable employees, families, and ultimately the public." He continued, "In light of each institution's roles and responsibilities, I hope you actively discover ways to contribute and do your best to overcome COVID-19 at the national level."
