Songpa-gu Delivers Healthy Lunchboxes to Out-of-School Youth
From the 1st, Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim Launches Meal Support Project...Contactless Free Meals Provided via Gifticon and Lunchbox Orders
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will provide meal support to out-of-school youth in the area starting from the 1st through the Youth Support Center (Kkumdeulim).
Out-of-school youth refers to young people who are not attending school. The district has prepared a meal support project to prevent youth from skipping meals and to improve their nutritional status for healthy growth.
The meal support recipients are all out-of-school youth aged 9 to 24 participating in the Youth Support Center (Kkumdeulim) programs.
The out-of-school meal support project provides free meals by offering lunch boxes, use of nearby restaurants, and instant foods when youth visit the center.
In particular, to respond to COVID-19, support will also be provided in a non-face-to-face manner. When not visiting the center, meals can be provided up to three times a day in the form of meal substitutes such as sending mobile gifticons, ordering lunch boxes, and delivering instant foods.
Meanwhile, the Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim offers customized services such as counseling and education, support for the qualification exam study, and self-reliance support to alleviate the sense of alienation and provide balanced opportunities for out-of-school youth who have dropped out of school.
The Kkumdeulim Center is available to any youth aged 9 to 24 who have left school, and those wishing to use the service can apply at the Songpa-gu Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim.
