According to Wando Maritime Police on the 30th, around 10 PM the previous day, while drinking with friends inside the Saturday Market at Maryang Port, Gangjin, a nearby tourist noticed Mr. A (male, born in 1983) slipping and reported it to the Wando Maritime Police control room.
In response, Wando Maritime Police dispatched a patrol boat, patrol car, coastal rescue boat, and maritime rescue team. Arriving at the scene within 3 minutes, the police confirmed the location of the drowning person, and Officer Park Geon-su from Maryang Police Substation entered the water and safely rescued Mr. A.
Mr. A was in good condition with normal breathing and pulse and was handed over to the 119 emergency medical team and transported to Gangjin Medical Center.

A Wando Maritime Police official stated, "There is a risk of safety accidents that can take lives, such as slipping and falling into the sea due to carelessness after drinking around ports, harbors, and docks." He added, "Constant and thorough attention to all safety measures is necessary."
