Social Value Private Festival 'SOVAC 2020' Opens on the 1st of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] The private festival related to social value, 'Social Value Connect (SOVAC) 2020,' will open on the 1st of next month.
According to the SOVAC Secretariat on the 30th, lectures, talk shows, live competitions, and university student challenges aimed at solving social issues will be held from the 1st to the 24th of next month.
Every Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m., the events can be viewed online on the SOVAC homepage, YouTube channel, and Naver Happybean campaign page.
SOVAC began in 2018 when SK Chairman Chey Tae-won proposed, "Let's create a place for cooperation and exchange so that anyone can participate in solving social problems and create social value."
SOVAC serves as an opportunity to share experiences and wisdom and collaborate to solve social problems and create social value. The first event, held last May at the Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul, attracted great interest with over 5,000 attendees.
This year, participation from private companies has increased, including domestic and international firms such as POSCO, Shinhan Financial Group, Germany's BASF, and platform companies like Naver, Kakao, and Google.
Hyundai Motor Group Vice Chairman Chung Eui-sun, POSCO Chairman Choi Jeong-woo, Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Cho Yong-byoung, BASF Germany Chairman Martin Brudermueller, and SK Chairman Chey Tae-won will deliver congratulatory messages on the opening day.
Singer Brian, actors Son Hyun-joo and Park Si-eun, comedian Park Young-jin, announcers Jo Woo-jong, Shin Ah-young, Kim Il-jung, Han Seok-jun, Son Mina, Park Eun-young, Moon Ji-ae, broadcasters Alberto Mondi, Heo Young-ji, Park Seul-gi, famous gamer Faker, YouTubers Sinsaimdang, Kim Ji-woo, Taeyong, and sports trainer Yang Chi-seung will participate, enhancing the event's public appeal.
In the first week, the achievements of social ventures creating a better world through innovative technology will be introduced.
Following that, sessions hosted by Naver, POSCO, Kakao, and Google will take place.
In the third week, topics such as the meaning of impact investment, social innovation by the younger generation, solving regional issues using IT, and employment issues for people with disabilities will be discussed. In the final week, challenges faced by nonprofit organizations after the COVID-19 pandemic, the necessity of 'empathy' education, and the achievements and future of Social Performance Incentives (SPC) will be key topics.
Every morning before the main program, videos introducing social enterprise products and services produced by 'Happiness Influencers' will be shown.
