[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Kim Seongjong, Commissioner of Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency, announced on the 30th that the "Jeju Maritime Police Integrity Relay from Chujado to Ieodo" was conducted to create a culture of integrity within the organization.
The Jeju Maritime Police produced a video featuring the 'will of integrity' and promises to the public as expressed by the officers on patrol vessels guarding the sea from the northern Chuja Police Substation to the southern Ieodo, and uploaded it on YouTube.
In the integrity relay, the Commissioner of Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency and the heads of affiliated maritime police stations took the lead in pledging and encouraging active participation in creating an honest organizational culture.
An official from the Jeju Maritime Police Agency, which organized the event, explained, "Integrity is an essential virtue for advancing toward a fair society, and the practice of integrity by public officials directly benefits the public."
Commissioner Kim Seongjong stated, "Jeju Maritime Police has been striving to spread a culture of integrity through various activities such as club activities, Integrity Golden Bell, and meetings to improve integrity levels, and will continue to work so that all members of the organization practice integrity and improve corruption-prone areas."
