One additional confirmed case was reported involving a woman in her 40s, a church member at a Dong-gu church where the siblings' father serves as a pastor. This brought the number of secondary infections linked to the pastor (54), who had participated in the Gwanghwamun rally, to 12 within two days.
According to Daegu City on the 29th, during the epidemiological investigation related to the Gwanghwamun rally the previous day, five people were confirmed positive, along with one woman in her 40s from Dalseo-gu who had arrived from the Philippines, totaling six confirmed cases.
On the same day, A, a second-year student at Daegu Girls' High School who underwent testing following her younger sibling's positive diagnosis at Daeryun Middle School, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 late at night. A, who had been asymptomatic until then, reportedly did not attend school after her sibling's diagnosis. A woman in her 40s from Suseong-gu who had contact with the siblings' family also tested positive.
Additionally, three family members in their 40s and teens who attended the Gwanghwamun rally, including a man and his wife, were confirmed positive on the same day. Furthermore, a woman in her 40s residing in Dalseo-gu who arrived from the Philippines on the 27th tested positive during a screening test conducted at the Dongdaegu Station walk-through testing site.
As a result, as of midnight on the same day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased by six from the previous day, reaching 7,013 (6,944 local infections, 69 imported cases). The number of recovered patients rose to 6,860 with one discharge the previous day, while the death toll remained at 187.
