[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk recently conducted an emergency disinfection of religious facilities with more than 50 people in Gongseong-myeon on the 28th, as cluster infections of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been increasing mainly in the metropolitan area.
Gongseong-myeon (Mayor Kang Juhwan) carried out extensive disinfection work on that day at religious facilities and public facilities frequently visited by residents, while also conducting promotional activities recommending the restraint of large-scale events and group gatherings.
Sangju City Gongseong-myeon has designated public officials in charge to prevent the spread of infectious diseases at religious facilities, and in the case of large events, they are checking compliance with key quarantine rules such as maintaining social distancing with two or more people, temperature checks, and checklist completion.
Kang Juhwan, Mayor of Gongseong-myeon, said, "To end COVID-19 early, Gongseong-myeon is establishing and operating a meticulous quarantine safety system," and added, "For COVID-19 infection prevention, personal hygiene management such as hand washing, wearing masks, and cough etiquette is most important and must not be forgotten."
