Naver Strengthens 'Live Shopping'... Acquires 'Jam Live' Business
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver announced on the 27th that it will acquire the 'Jam Live' service operated by its subsidiary Snow.
Naver stated, "By integrating Naver's live shopping platform with Jam Live's content, we aim to streamline the two related organizations and strengthen relevant functions so that small and medium-sized merchants facing difficulties due to the prolonged non-face-to-face (untact) environment can respond agilely to the untact consumption environment."
Snow's English conversation education application (app) 'Cake,' launched in March 2018, will spin off as an independent corporation in October.

Snow said, "We decided to spin off with the goal of growing into the world's number one global language learning app by 2023 based on an independent and efficient decision-making structure," adding, "We will expand the scope of learning content to various languages beyond English and enhance the quality of the service by increasing the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in coaching users' learning activities."
