57.24 Million KRW vs 91.4 Billion KRW... Extreme Wealth Gap Among United Party's First-Term Lawmakers
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] '57.24 million KRW (Assemblyman Ji Seong-ho) vs 91.41445 billion KRW (Assemblyman Jeon Bong-min)'.
Although they are active together in the 21st National Assembly, their wealth scale was at opposite extremes. According to the asset declaration disclosure details announced by the National Assembly Public Official Ethics Committee on the 28th, the total assets of 58 first-term lawmakers of the United Future Party amounted to 289.395 billion KRW, averaging 4.988 billion KRW per person.
Although the average asset size approaches 5 billion KRW, this is because many have assets worth hundreds of billions. Excluding four lawmakers with assets over 20 billion KRW (Han Mu-gyeong, Jeon Bong-min, Kim Eun-hye, Baek Jong-heon), the average asset size per person drops to 1.917 billion KRW, about one-third of the total. Of course, this is still higher than that of the Democratic Party of Korea (1.282 billion KRW).

Most of the securities he holds are unlisted stocks of Ijin Housing and Dongsu Construction, where he served as CEO and is the largest shareholder.
Han Mu-gyeong, former CEO of the auto parts company 'Dizen' (45.2 billion KRW), also owns unlisted stocks worth 32.7 billion KRW, including 398,235 shares of Dizen, and declared multiple lands (1.07172 billion KRW) such as factory sites in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, and Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
Baek Jong-heon, who declared assets worth 28.2 billion KRW, was a real estate tycoon. His assets included land (4.6388 billion KRW) owned by himself, his spouse, and children; buildings (12.85812 billion KRW) such as 28 officetels in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, a jeonse lease right for an officetel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, an officetel in Dongnae-gu, Busan, and an apartment in Geumjeong-gu, Busan; and securities (8.64275 billion KRW), including 51,000 shares of Baeksan Metal, where he is the CEO.
