Gwangju City Council Issues Public Appeal Amid COVID-19 Crisis Situation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Chairman Kim Yong-jip) announced a public appeal urging active participation from citizens on the 27th in relation to the administrative order banning gatherings, which is equivalent to a de facto Level 3 social distancing measure due to the risk of COVID-19 community transmission.
Through the appeal, the Gwangju Metropolitan Council stated, “We welcome the administrative order measures equivalent to the de facto Level 3 social distancing decided by Gwangju City, considering the very serious state of COVID-19 community infections,” and added, “Please endure just a little longer, as this is the minimum measure to prevent further catastrophe.”
They continued, “We must neither deny the reality we face nor be discouraged,” emphasizing, “The administrative order is an unavoidable measure to block the spread of community infections, so active participation from citizens is urgently needed.”
