Support Project Contest to Overcome COVID-19 through Creating Shared Value
Budget Support for Idea Commercialization Provided to 5 Selected Organizations
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Shinhan Bank announced on the 27th that it has delivered project funds to five organizations selected in the support project idea contest 'Good Connect' aimed at overcoming the novel coronavirus infection (hereinafter COVID-19).
'Good Connect' was planned to induce social interest in overcoming COVID-19 damage and to promote nationwide determination to overcome the damage through a support project contest, funded by 500 million KRW raised from 'Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation,' a representative donation program of Shinhan Bank employees.
Since the idea contest started on April 20, 181 support project ideas from individuals, companies, and organizations were received. After PT evaluations involving the Shinhan Bank labor union and social contribution experts, as well as netizen voting, the project ideas of five organizations were finally selected as support targets: ▲ Social Cooperative Village Power Plant ▲ Seoul Medical Association Medical Volunteer Group (Social Welfare Corporation) ▲ Gyeongsangbuk-do Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired (Complex) ▲ Warm Day (Corporation) ▲ Small Star Regional Children's Center (Social Welfare Facility).
Social Cooperative Village Power Plant's '80-Day Neighborhood Store Tour' was highly evaluated for contributing to the virtuous cycle of revitalizing the local alley economy by creating a map of small local stores and a tour passport, providing participants who purchase goods and receive stamps at the stores with small prizes.
Warm Day (Corporation)'s 'Best Birthday Gift for 1004 Children' was highly praised as a win-win idea that gives potted plants and Onnuri gift certificates to children belonging to regional children's centers on their birthdays, allowing marginalized children to have meaningful birthdays while simultaneously revitalizing local flower farms and traditional markets.
In addition, Small Star Regional Children's Center's 'Little Musicians with Parents,' which connects children in the center with freelance instructors who lost their jobs, Gyeongsangbuk-do Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired's '20,000 KRW Happiness,' which supports side dishes for visually impaired people in the district in cooperation with local side dish stores, and Seoul Medical Association Medical Volunteer Group's hope-sharing medical treatment idea for marginalized groups were selected and will be commercialized.
